Vehicle identification system

1232321

To exclude human factor from sotck-taking operation, RPE Metra developed automatic vehicle identification system (RFID-system), i.e. procedures that match weighing results with the number of weighed vehicle.

The system consists of the scales equipped with radio-frequency readers, radio-frequency marks on each vehicle and special software program.

RFID equipment is a set of technical tools, including:

  • ProxPass - contactless radio-frequency mark (Proximity) for vehicle registration, it is mounted on side cab glass of each BelAZ.
  • Contactless radio-frequency reader (Proximity) MaxiProx manufactured by HID
  • Interface converter RS-232/422/485 to 10Base-F ÒÐÑ DAC
  • Electrical cabinet for weight-measuring instrucment, barrier and traffic light control module, UPS, networking equipment
  • Traffic light
  • Barrier
Principal functions of "ARM-Vesovoi" software
  • Simultaneous control of two scales Ì8200À
  • List of transport units

  • Log of weighing results
    • Date, time
    • RFID mark number

Principle of operation

Scale etrance is equipped with traffic lights for traffic control. Radio-frequency reader, which is mounted near scales, receives vehicle number by means of radio-frquency mark. The mark is mounted on inner surface of vehicle windscreen. Identification distance depends on mark location and environmental conditions, the range is 1,9-2,5 m. Reading can be made only when vehicle does not move. Together with weighing results, data are transferred to computer in office building via dedicated line through converter.

Logic of automatedweigh station operation
  • Vehicle comes to the scales.
  • If scales are ready for operation, green traffic light is on, exit barrier is closed.
  • Vehicle drives into the scales and stops opposite to RFID mark reader.
  • Entrance traffic light switches to red.
  • Vehicle is automatically weighed simultaneously with RFID-mark reading (reader controller makes sound signal).
  • After the weighing process, new record is added to the database.
  • Barrier opening signal is sent, barrier opens.
  • After vehicle exits the scales, entrance traffic light switches to green on the basis of scales vacation signal.
  • Exit barrier closes.
  • The process repeats from item 1.
  • During item 6 execution, new weighing record appears in main window of "ARM vesovoi" software.
