Barriers and traffic lights control system
Designation
Control system is designed for control of weighed vehicles traffic on truck scales by means of barriers and traffic light control. The system includes control cabinet М6016 and specialized software program NetSystem, installed on office computer.
The control system:
- sends control signals to traffic lights and barriers in compliance with certain logic of operation;
- visualizes traffic light and barrier statuses and operating modes;
- indicates weighed vehicle mass, using animation;
- registers mass of freight and adds weighing results to the computer database;
- records system state;
- indicates errors.
Functional capabilities:
- operator's interface which is as much closer to actual conditions as possible;
- easy parameter setting for specific customer's needs;
- vehicle mass registration (gross weight, net weight, tare) by truck scales;
- automatic and manual control of barriers and traffic lights during weighing process;
- program operation recording.
The system is designed for operation with the following equipment:
- truck scales М8200А manufactured by LLC RPE "Metra";
- road barriers G4000 of GARD series manufactured by Cancelli automatici, Italy;
- two-section LED traffic lights manufactured by LLC "Diak", Saransk, Russia; computer.

Program setting
Program setting means program configuring parameters setting.
Operation sequence
Operator-aided weighing
1. If there is no vehicle on scales and barriers are closed, the system is in "SYSTE READY" state.
2. Operator should push "ENTRANCE" button on the right or on the left, depending on side of vehicle entrance. The system switches to "WAITING FOR BARRIER SWITCHING" state.
3. When entrance barrier opens, system switches green entrance light and enters to "WAITING FOR ENTRANCE" state.
4. Vehicle drives on the scales.
5. When weight changes and exceeds "empty scales" threshold, the system stabilizes for the set time-out (period when entrance barrier closes), and then the system turns on red entrance light, closes entrance barrier and switches to "WAITING FOR BARRIER SWITCHING" mode.
6. When entrance barrier is closed, the system enters "WEIGHING" state. Then, operator has access to "Record weight" button.
7. Operator should type vehicle number, then he receives acces to "Record weight" button. Operator should push "Record weight" button, type vehicle information in appeared dialog box, and then press "OK". The system saves weighing result in database table "Working report".
8. When weight is recorded in database, the system opens exit barrier and switches to "WAITING FOR BARRIER SWITCHING" state.
9. After exit barrier opens, the system turns green exit traffic light on and switches to "WAITING FOR EXIT" mode.
10. Vehicle goes out of scales. When weight changes and becomes lower than "empty scales" threshold, the system stabilizes for the set time-out (time-out of exit barrier closing), then the system turns red exit traffic light on, closes exit barrier and switches to "WAITING FOR BARRIER SWITCHING" mode. When exit barrier is closed, the system switches to "SYSTEM IS READY" mode.
During program entrance, if there is a vehicle on scales, the system switches to "STOPPED SYSTEM" state, which allows either weigh the vehicle, or indicate exit direction. If barrier was not opened or closed, the system comes to "WAITING FOR BARRIER SWITCHING" state.
At any stage operator can use "STOP" button. On button pressing, the system closes all barriers and turns on red light of all traffic lights. Then it is possible either to weigh the vehicle (to do this, operator should execute item 7), or vahicle exit in any direction (to do this, operator should press "EXIT" button).
